Melissa Milam's passion for design began with a lifelong love of art, creativity, and the power of thoughtful spaces to shape everyday life. What started as an appreciation for color, composition, and beautiful environments ultimately led her to study Architecture with an Interior Design focus at Miami University, where she developed a deep understanding of the relationship between architecture and interiors.

Before founding Melissa Milam Interiors, Melissa spent several years working for a Nashville interior designer before joining a luxury home builder, where she designed custom homes throughout Brentwood, Franklin, and the greater Nashville area. Her experience in both design and construction provides a unique perspective that allows her to thoughtfully guide projects from the earliest planning stages through final installation.

Melissa is known for creating homes that feel timeless, layered, and deeply personal. Inspired by classic architecture, British interiors, antiques, and fine art, she believes the most successful homes are those that honor the architecture of the house while reflecting the lives of the people within it. Rich architectural details, natural materials, collected furnishings, and thoughtfully curated artwork are often central to her work, creating spaces that feel both elevated and effortlessly livable.

Through a collaborative and highly detailed approach, Melissa helps clients create homes that are elegant, functional, and uniquely their own. Her goal is always the same: to design spaces that feel as though they have been there forever, while serving the way her clients live today.
